Let us explain.

Remember way back when there was only one Philly-based microbrewery?

Yep, that was Dock Street Brewery, back in 1985.

We started with just a couple styles of beer, one of which was our Bohemian Pilsner, a crisp and classic Czech-style Pilsner brewed with Saaz hops. It's made appearances a few times through the decades - including on tap at our brewpub - and now, for the first time in a looong time, it's back in bottles and cases. Just in time for summer, and just in time for Memorial Day Weekend.

Just how much history does Dock Street's Bohemian Pilsner have? It was the only PA beer included in beer critic Michael Jackson's 1988 book New World Guide To Beer, and was among just a handful of local lagers in the Pilsner category a decade later in Jackson's Ultimate Beer, published in 1998.

5% ABV, 40 IBUs

Brewed in the style of the original Pilsner beers of Bohemia. We use an enormous amount of Czech Saaz hops and pilsner malts to produce its bright golden color and soft, nutty flavor. The balance is clean and crisp with a gentle hop nose and a long, dry finish.

The Bohemian Pilsner (as well as our Rye IPA) are both available in Six Packs, 12 Packs, and Cases at Dock Street Brewery in West Philadelphia, as well as at distributors in PA and NJ.
