FRONT OF HOUSE:

HOST/HOSTESS

Previous experience and, needless to say, friendly, positive and welcoming attitude is a must.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Greet and seat guests;

- Make/manage a waitlist on busy nights;

- Distribute parties evenly throughout the dining room and among servers;

- On some occasions, you'll optimize both of our spaces by directing spillover guests to Dock Street Cannery + Tasting Lounge to wait if it gets packed in the main brewpub and communicate with them to return to main Dock Street Brewpub when their table is ready.

This position is part-time; 1 - 3 afternoon/evening shifts a week - Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.

MANAGER, FULL TIME

Be an important part of something special! Dock Street Brewery has been an institution in the Philadelphia landscape for years, inspiring many new breweries to do what they love. We have continued to innovate, stay on trend and grow.

Last year we had a very successful launch of our cannery and in March of 2019, we will open our newest facility in Graduate Hospital.

We are looking for Grade A individuals who think on their feet, manage proactively, has an entrepreneurial spirit and leads by example. We are looking for someone with great enthusiasm and passion for beer, a love for hospitality and filled with self motivation. This individual can really make an immediate impact in an already flourishing business.

REQUIREMENTS:

It is mandatory that you have at least 3 years of high volume, upscale casual experience. We will unfortunately not be able to get back to those who do not possess this experience as this is not an entry level position.

KITCHEN:

LINE COOK (Part time), Dock Street Brewery and Restaurant

Dock Street Brewery and Restaurant is seeking experienced, talented line cook for our busy brewpub in University City. 

Our menu is based around award-winning, wood-fired gourmet pizza made with hand-tossed dough and cooked in a wood-burning oven. Other specialties include sandwiches, house-made burgers and apps (like our Trio Fries) and a Sunday Brunch menu.

Our kitchen is successful, reputable and fast paced. A desire to learn and grow in the culinary/ brewpub industry is needed. This is a great opportunity in a professional, forward-thinking, progressive (and yes, fun) brewpub environment.

Position is part time but can lead to full time. 3+ Years experience required.

Beer Sales Representative, Full Time

Dock Street Brewing Co, founded in 1985, is a leading pioneer of the American Microbrewery Revolution with a reputation for innovation and exceptional quality beers. Our beer is available for wholesale accounts on draught, in 12oz bottles, and 16oz cans, as well as occasional limited-release special edition 750ml bottles.

Job Profile
We're seeking a professional with experience in and a passion for the craft beer and/or craft spirits industry. Beer sales experience is an absolute must.

Candidate is hardworking, energetic, curious and ambitious, and shares company values of honesty and integrity. Must possess strong selling skills and sales strategies to properly represent the Dock Street brands. Candidate needs to enjoy being “on the street” every day and wants to be a part of the excitement and challenge in executing a company strategy for growth. The ideal candidate will also be organized and communicative, as this role is equal parts collaborative and independent, so being self-motivated and a good record keeper while working independently is key.

Responsibilities include:
-Partner with sales team for weekly product availability
-Set weekly and monthly sales goals
-Write weekly summaries and monthly reports; communicate progress as you go. Pass along feedback about the brand to Dock Street sales team and managers
-Create strategic weekly schedule of new and existing accounts to visit
-Building and maintaining solid relationships with a portfolio of regional on- and off-premise accounts.
-Planning, organizing and executing or attending events and activities such as tastings, festivals and beer dinners centered on fostering partnerships and increasing brand awareness.
-Scheduling ride-alongs with distributor reps

Job Requirements
-Minimum 2 years beer sales experience is imperative, preferably in Mid-Atlantic region
Please note: Candidates with no prior beer sales experience will not be considered.
-Knowledge of Philadelphia + suburbs bars, restaurants and distributors
-Friendly and outgoing personality
-Organized, sales-oriented and responsible,
-College degree
-Valid Drivers license
-Ability to lift 150lbs (i.e. a 1/2bbl keg of beer)
-Occasional weekend and evening availability
-Applicants without required experience will not be read or considered. Serious professional applicants only - loafers & dilettantes need not apply.

We offer seasonal and year-round styles, among which are our Dock Street Bohemian Pilsner and Dock Street Rye IPA as well as a steady stream of creative and innovative brews that range across the full spectrum of styles, such as Dock Street King Juice DIPA, Dock Street bean2bean Espresso Stout, and Dock Street Nino’s Prickly Pear Gose. We also love to have fun with our beers, artwork, and marketing, as evidenced by pop-ups like Dock Street Beer Ain’t Nothing to Funk With, which was aged to the tune of Wu Tang Klan 24/7 for six months and “The Gang Tries to Get Mac to Come to Dock Street” Milk Stout, brewed in honor of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

BRAND AMBASSADORS; Part-time

We're looking for brand ambassadors with Friday availability. (9-5ers need not apply, tastings usually require a 3pm departure time.)

You obviously already love craft beer. Want to work in the industry? Specifically, want to attend beer festivals and tastings to serve up delicious Dock Street beer with a side of history and brewing knowledge to other beer enthusiasts - and occasionally, people who don't yet know that they are beer enthusiasts. 

We here at Dock Street, Philly's First Craft Brewery, are looking for people like you.  We’re looking for qualified Street Ambassadors to represent us in Central and North New Jersey.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
- Attending beer samplings and occasional beer festivals on behalf of Dock Street; setting up displays including banners and swag; tapping kegs or setting up cases/bottles for pouring; serving beer;
- Organizing temporary and permanent displays at off-premise accounts. Speaking with beer enthusiasts, fans of our brand, and potential future customers about Dock Street's history, beer availability, etc.;
- Working with our NJ wholesaler to set up and organize tastings.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- A valid drivers licence;
- A car or regular access to one for travel to promotional events, tastings/samplings, beer fests, etc.;
- The ability to lift and/or move and maneuver cases of beer and occasionally kegs.

EXPERIENCE:
A genuine passion for craft beer.
Food and beverage service experience preferred, not required.
Sales experience preferred but not required.
Experience talking about beer and a knowledge of beer, the brewing process, different styles, etc. Some training will be provided.

YOU MUST:
Be 21+ years of age
Be available to work on evenings and weekends

We are looking for a Brewery Bartender with weekend availability. To be considered, you must have prior bartending experience at a brewery.

Knowledge of craft beer, cocktails and passion for all of the above is a must!
