SOME
TIPS ON BEER CARE
After all the trouble we
take, we want you to really enjoy it...
Store
it cold.
The colder the better, somewhere between 35 and 45
degrees (F). Beer needs to be fresh, and cool storage
helps to keep it that way.
But
don't drink it that cold.
If you really want to taste your beer, let it warm to 45
or 50 degrees before drinking. And don't ice the glass,
it just adds water.
Don't
sneak it into the glass on a slant.
Pour your beer straight into the glass form a height of
12 inches or so. The high pour "beats" some of
the carbon dioxide out of the brew, giving it a smoother
taste. Need we mention that drinking it straight out the
bottle is a great waste?
Don't
wash your glasses in soap or detergent.
Residue can kill the beer foam. A sink full of water and
baking soda works best.
What's
the best beer glass?
Not a glass at all, but a thick ceramic stein (to hold
the temperature) with a lid (to hold the head).
What to do if your cup/glass/stein runneth over?
A little fatty acid will cut runaway foam. We all have
fatty acids on our fingers. In other words, just put
your finger in your beer. |
