NO BANK WEDNESDAYS! inspired by Occupy Philly EVERY WEDNESDAY STARTING DEC. 21ST The only way to take a stand is to start costing them money! Starting December 21th and every Wednesday thereon, Dock Street Brewery will not pay out to the One Percent.   Every time you make a payment with your credit or debit card, businesses have to pay fees to the credit card companies. Operating on a cash-only system allows us to keep the money in the pockets of the 99%. This is why Dock Street Brewery will not accept credit or debit cards on Wednesdays. Since we aren't paying credit card fees we will pass that saving on to you . We will give everyone a 3% discount.... just for using cash.  All day and night, everything will cost 3% less AND you will be keeping the movement alive!   One of the most recent issues to affect Occupy Philly is the eviction from City Hall.  As free thinkers, we realize the value of a space to convene and arouse momentum. Occupiers and Supporters, come take warmth in a beer at Dock Street. Leave your credit Cards home and make a statement. Hit them where it hurts!   PS. MAKE SEXY BEAST YOUR VALENTINE TUESDAY, FEB 14TH That Sexy Beast always shows face around the 14th of Feb. Sure enough, he’s at it again. The smooth chocolate stout goes on tap on Cupid’s day. Also in the house, a special dessert whipped up by our friend and current White Dog Pastry Chef, Jen. The dessert will use the Sexy Beast as a key ingredient! Sexy Beast is a smooth, velvety stout aged on 10 lbs of roasted cacao nibs. Rich, sweetish chocolate notes up front layered with hints of coffee and toasted malt, finished with a dry roastiness. Limited.

BOOKS THROUGH BARS FUNDRAISER WEDNESDAY, FEB 22 8:30pm With Special Guests: Suzy Woods’ In Pursuit of Ale Ladies Books Through Bars’ current campaign is to gather dictionaries for prisoners and we are asking you to help! Come in and donate to their cause and get a beer and a slice. Live music from SOURMASH and CASK & CO starting @ 9pm! About Books Through Bars: Founded in the late 1980s and formally incorporated as an organization in 2000, Books Through Bars was established to address the paucity of educational resources and programming made available to prisoners hoping to use the time of their imprisonment to effect positive change in their lives. By distributing free educational materials to prisoners, Books Through Bars facilitates prisoner education, thereby promoting successful community re-integration. Because successful community reintegration requires transformation within and outside of prison walls, Books Through Bars utilizes our book distribution service as the foundation on which we build innovative programs designed to engage a broad cross-section of the general public in thinking critically about issues of imprisonment.
